Unite in The Queen Elizabeth II Garden in the heart of Lower Manhattan to recognize England and Englanders contribution to New York and the world.
Dress in red & white or your favorite English character and the best dressed will WIN two economy return flights to England thanks to Virgin Atlantic.
Enjoy the family music and entertainment, and take part in the sing-alongs, enter the costume competition and "Show us your Shakespeare!" to commemorate his 400th anniversary.

The event will be officially opened by Nick Astbury, Deputy Consul-General and Patricia Edwards, Vice Consul - communications, from the British Consulate-General - New York, followed by National Anthem. Run of show will be hosted by Sharon Carpenter & Jamie McDonald.
Music & Sing-alongs
English DJ, Kurtis Powers will be playing music and encouraging guests to join our sing-alongs throughout the afternoon, starting with England's National Anthem. Later we'll sing 'Happy Birthday' to the Queen, who turns 90 on April 21st, and close the ceremony at 4pm with a rendition of "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" by Monty Python.

Kids can cross a drawbridge into an English castle themed activity area, where they can dress up, have their face painted, design a shield, write on parchment paper or build their own Lego castle.
'Show us your Shakespeare!'
Actor Jim Dale MBE, famous from the 'Carry-on' movies and more recently the Harry Potter audio books will kick off the Shakespeare segment. Take to the stage and recite a line of Shakespeare for the fun England Day film to commemorate Shakespeare's 400th Anniversary! All ages and 'acting' abilities welcome!

The Queen Elizabeth II Garden, in the heart of Lower Manhattan, memorializes the 67 British subjects who lost their lives in the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001. Its mission has expanded to celebrate the historic ties of friendship and unity between the United States of America, the Commonwealth countries and the United Kingdom.
